A person gets assignments on first day of the month,
which is to be submitted after 14th day, let’s say a fortnight. That’s
evident that he has plenty of time to get that assignment to lecturers table. First
day went by, second day the same. He thinks he has 12 more days and he carries
the idea that he has many more days. The days passes by, he still thinks he has
time. He opens his PC and types a few words or two. And shuts close his PC.
Next day is 14th of the month and he
starts, “I will complete by tonight and submit it tomorrow, that’s an easy task”.
He goes around for some casual walks with his friends and reaches his room
late. He is hungry to which he helps his roommate prepare dinner. Late night he
is on social media and online game. The thought about Assignment is out of
mind. Next day he wakes up to the alarm and rushes to attend the lectures.
The day comes to an end with some football matches
with senior college students. Assignment is about to be due but unbothered. What
are these narratives about, but procrastination? Many a times we don’t even
care time is important. We just move on skipping or at the best escaping things
but it will find you, that time it will be too late, that is why, just as this
narration, most of us will never be able to get the assignment of our life
done.
In life we are bound to many things and one such
crucial is, time. We don’t even know when it would pass. You are reading a book
and that one hour which you thought you would use for writing is over. Time is
swift, the more we want it to pass slowly, the more it passes in faster pace. The
time we want it to pass fast, passes otherwise. These are reality and to accept
it, we should always do things on time.
As a collegian, I always face difficulty in managing
time. I often get one assignment done and the other one is due, I cook
breakfast and I am late for the class. These are simple problems which will
define us as we grow, the bigger aspects will fall apart if we don’t take care
of these simple aspects.
One of the most affecting factors that eat our time
is mobile phone. It’s the social media that is so adhesive to us, it beckons
us. Regardless of our age and gender, we are so obsessed by it. Sometimes, we
even forget to take a proper meal. Knowing this, it’s always fit to distance
ourselves from the social media as far as possible, for its addictive and will definitely
spoil us if we don’t prioritize time.
Famously heard, as we all know Procrastination is a
thief of time. Don’t ever let the same steal your time. Take time but do on
time.
